| Although working professionally as an illustrator for almost 5 decades, Elissa has only recently begun to show her fine art works in gallery exhibitions, with immediate recognition. The ARTS MEDIA Magazine review of her first exhibit (Spring, 2001) described her drawings as exquisite obsessions in fact, her detailed, black and white drawings of unusual landscape views are created with one simple tool and in just one intensive sitting. Elissa's subtle renderings may appear to be made with carbon or graphite pencils, but she actually uses an un-erasable waxed pencil to avoid any casual or superfluous marks or smudges in her highly controlled images. |
